I love wandering round Car Boot sales and searching for the unknown "bargain." I love chatting to people while grabbing a bargain or two. A while ago I chatted to a lady who was selling ear-rings. I had a good rummage through her selection and finally decided on a pretty pair of clip-ons with blue stones. They were only £1.00 so how could I resist.
Whilst chatting the lady told me she played the harmonica, the accordian and the piano.
I am a local Radio Presenter so I asked her if she would like to come along to the studio, bring her accordian and play some tunes. I felt a tinge of sadness and she told me she was brought up in an orphanage and she swopped another toy for a harmonica. How would she have known then that the little musical instrument would bring her years of joy..
I had to wait several months for her to come to the Radio studio as she was having a hip operation..
At the Radio she played several little tunes and we laughed in delight. I hope the listeners enjoyed it too.
Some time later she told me that she had been a friend of Spike Milligan! After that she told me lots of anecdotes and that he used to like wandering around her garden. Also, she said he liked to sit under the Apple tree.

Also, she said he came round often to chat and get away from his wife!

We carried on and talked about Spike's tomb stone that has the epitaph "I told you I was ill." I then asked her what Spike was like and she told me that he was really quite sad. I asked her what was he sad about and she said "he was sad that he didn't marry me!."
I will leave you to decide..
